But wow, this is amazing. You really captured a lot of emotion with this drawing.
AWACs overhead: <<Foxtail One, you've been hit! Eject!>>
Foxtail One: "This is callsign Foxtail One, I've been hit. My lever's jammed and the controls are fried. I can't eject"
AWACs: <<Can you still fly manually?>>
Foxtail One: *checks flight-stick* "Yeah, I can still control the flaps a bit"
AWACs: <<There's a highway a few Clicks to the East, can you attempt a landing?>>
Foxtail One: "Yeah, I need a bit of cover though, the flak is gonna cut me to shreds"
AWACs: <<Make your way there, Wolfclaw 3 is heading to assist>>
Foxtail One: "Roger that" I pull the flight stick down and to the left, after steadying out, I notice the picture of my wife I keep in my leg pocket. I pull it out and I take a long look at it. I see the highway and a few explosions along my flightpath out of the corner of my eye, I put the picture back in my pocket.
Foxtail One: "I see the highway, I'm making my landing" I ease back on the thrust and the nose of my jet drops. Too fast! I crash-land and I slide on my belly for a few hundred yards, my Jet stops as it hits a burnt out schoolbus, rupturing my jet's exposed fuel tank and propelling my head into the dashboard and my knee straight into the underside of the controls, I feel a bone snap.
AWACs: <<Foxtail One! Are you all right? RESPOND!>>
My jet starts on fire, and I can tell my leg is broken. I pull out the picture one last time.
Foxtail One: "Dammit, *Wife's Name*, I'm so-" Is all I get out as the flames reach the fuel tank, causing my jet to go up in a ball of flames.
AWACs: "FOXTAIL!"
You captured the emotions perfectly. Keep it up
That was an awesome story for this picture which made it even more captivating. Thank you.
Although it just didn't feel like an Ace Combat to me...
The DFM and ASM kind of ruined the skill that you had to learn to defeat other enemy planes. (I learned skill the hard way when encountering Strigon Team on the desert mission on AC6.)
